Theresa joined the Elderwheels Team in August of 2023.  She and Elsa have children at the same school so their families know each other. Theresa is driving the "Jim" accessible ramp van.

 The real Jim was our first  EVER client. Elsa met him in 2020 during the pandemic and saw him every week for almost 2 years. He was the first client we took for a vaccination also.                         Rest in Peace, Jim ...

Theresa has experience in the medical and health field for over 20 years. She graduated from UT Austin with a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology and worked in the clinical laboratory for several years. She then made a switch to pursue a Master's in Occupational Therapy from the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio.

 

She has worked as an OT with pediatrics in outpatient clinics, and then with adults in the hospital, home health, assisted living, and skilled nursing facility settings over a span of 10 years. Over the years, she has also worked as a fitness instructor with older adults in an independent living retirement community; and as a health coach and biometrics screener for worksite wellness events, when taking a break from work as an OT.

 

She is passionate about health and wellness, working to care for clients of all ages, and learning about ways to help people maintain a balance in their physical, mental, and emotional well-being in all stages of their lives.

 

In her spare time, she enjoys trail running, hiking, yoga, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her 2 kids and husband, especially being active in the outdoors! She just started with Elderwheels in August 2023, and is excited to be on this journey with Elsa and her clients!
